The Time Has Come

Its all about the bike, not actually, its the ritual of the ride.

The excitement in the morning when the fresh sun is up. Warm wind is coming, the force of the turn, the acceleration from a stop. That's the extra excitement you know is imminent.

I pick up my jacket. Smell the leather, my heart starts to beat faster cause I know Im going to be pushing the starter button soon which is going to fire up 2 cylinders and make a twin exhaust pipe cry  for the open road.

My helmet smells like last weeks ride, my gloves feel softer, the firmness of the jacket padding causes me to feel like a tight ball of adrenaline as i pull the zip up. Tight but comfortable.

Walking to the garage I look at at hard chrome and steel that hasn't started to vibrate and shine reflecting sharp laser bursts of light in the early morning sunrise.

As I pull my leg over the black leather seat holding the brake lever like a knight ready for battle, i sit and relax back on the seat preparing myself for the noise, like waiting for the bang after a lightening strike.

Clutch in, turn the dial, .  Ignition. . Neutral.  . fuel starts to pump through the stainless steel pipes like blood flowing through the veins of a wild animal stalking its prey.

I hit the start button, vibrations go through me as if i was sitting warming up a P52 Mustang fighter on the runway ready for a straif run over Europe.

My bike cries for more fuel to give it a rebirth, that's when i twist the throttle and hear the roar of two pipes.

I am now ready for my ride, ready for the warm wind, the harsh morning sun and the smell of fumes.

The time has come.

Guardian Angles
By Vince

One day hundreds of bikers
Rode down a long empty road.
They were brothers
That followed the biker code.

And on the horizon,
The devil did sit.
He then decided that
He was going to mess with them a bit.

But before the devil could begin
He was blinded by a white light.
“Watch out” said a voice
“Do not seek trouble from them tonight”

The devil looked up
And screamed with hate:
“I will do what I want,
For them it’s too late!”

And with that he did change
Into a 2-ton speeding truck.
He approached them head on,
Yet they swerve out of his way with some luck.

He loses his temper and again did change
This time into a sporty BMW
And did try to kill them with speed
Yet nothing did and he made a “U”

As he drove away
He planned what to do next.
Then he again did hear the voice:
“Bikers are different from the rest!”

Now the devil was not happy with this
He said: “That may be true and well,
But no-one, not even bikers
Are safe in hell!”

He anchored his feet
And lifted his hands
And the waved them apart
And started to part the sands

A hole had emerged
Of preposterous size
The devil believed that even
God could not believe his eyes

The devil sank in the ground
To go greet the guests he had brought.
But in the bowels of hells he was surprised
To find more bikers than he had thought.

And behind each black-clad biker,
Stood his equal with bright white wings
They were the guardian angels,
Protectors of their bikers and their things.

And they started to march towards the devil,
And began wreaking havoc and mayhem
And as you hear the devil scream, a voice did say
“I told him not to mess with them!”

THE EON RIDERS
"WHY WE RIDE..."

WE DON’T RIDE TO BE COOL, WE DON’T RIDE TO BE TOUGH,
WE DON’T RIDE TO INTIMIDATE, WE DON’T RIDE TO BE BAD,
WE DON’T RIDE TO BE DANGEROUS, DON’T RIDE TO BE GREAT,
WE DON’T RIDE TO MAKE A STATEMENT OR TO REBEL.
BUT THEN WHY DO WE RIDE?

WE RIDE:
CUZ’ WE CAN.

WE RIDE TO BE OURSELVES, WE RIDE TO BE FREE,
WE RIDE TO BE PROUD OF WHO WE ARE,
WE RIDE TO FEEL THE WIND IN OUR FACES,
WE RIDE TO BE ABLE TO HEAR OUR ENGINES,

WE KNOW THAT THE ONLY THING SEPARATING US FROM
THE ROAD IS OUR IRON HORSE, SKIN AND BONES,
BUT NOT OUR ROOF, DOORS, AND WINDSHIELD
THAT SOME HIDE BEHIND AS TO SHOW
THAT THEY DO NOT WANT TO SEE OUR PROUD FACES.

OUR PRIDE.
OUR DIGNITY.
OUR HONOR.
OUR BIKES.

OUR FELLOW BIKERS ARE OUR BROTHERS,
OUR FRIENDS, OUR COMRADES.
THEIR ROAD IS OURS, OURS IS THEIRS.
WE ARE INCORRUPTIBLE,
PROPAGANDA AN ENEMY,
POLITICS NOTHING.

AS LONG AS THE PATH IS THERE
AND OUR BRETHREN NEAR,

WE WILL RIDE,
CUZ’ WE CAN.
